Michel Durham, Principle Voice Teacher

Born in Montr¨Ļal, voice teacher Michel Durham was raised in both the United States and Ontario, Canada. She trained as an actress, singer and dancer in Toronto, Ontario before traveling to Arizona in the US to pursue further studies in Voice. From 1994-1997 she attended Yavapai College where in addition to her studies in music she sang and toured with the Chamber Chorale, a select group of singers who acted as ambassadors for the College. From 1997-2000 Ms Durham attended the University of Arizona where she completed additional studies including Voice, Vocal Education and Choral Conducting. She was fortunate in her timing at U of A as she was able to study with remarkable teachers such as Orff Schulwerk master Nancy Ferguson, Voice Teacher and Vocal Pedagogue Dr. Larry Day, and the acclaimed Choral Conductor Maurice H. Skones. In 2000 shortly after graduation, she relocated to Galway, Ireland where she founded her now highly successful Durham Voice Studio ¨C a center for excellence in Vocal Education.
